About the role
We are looking for a high-performing Live-in Care Business Development Manager to drive growth in our live-in care service. This is a senior, results-focused sales role for someone who already understands the care sector, has strong commercial instincts, and brings valuable industry relationships. We need someone who can deliver results from day one - not someone who needs time to slowly build momentum.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and converting new business opportunities, developing strong referral networks, building relationships across the health and social care sector, and increasing live-in care revenue. They will also support the wider business by sharing best practice and helping to strengthen commercial performance where appropriate.
This role is home-based and can be based anywhere in England, but it requires frequent travel across England. It will suit someone who is highly motivated, well connected, confident in the field, and experienced in turning opportunities into tangible outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Drive new business growth for live-in care services
- Identify, develop and convert new commercial opportunities across private and publicly funded markets
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including local authorities, commissioners, social workers, discharge teams, case managers, brokers, charities, care professionals and other referral sources
- Develop and grow a strong pipeline of live-in care opportunities
- Increase referrals, assessments, package starts and overall revenue
- Represent the business at networking events, meetings and sector forums
- Use sector knowledge and existing relationships to generate opportunities quickly
- Support the development of local authority and tender-related opportunities where appropriate
- Help refine and improve the sales journey, from first enquiry through to conversion
- Monitor performance, identify barriers to growth, and take action to improve outcomes
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure commercial activity is aligned with operational delivery
- Share effective sales and business development approaches across the wider business, including supporting franchise partners with best practice where relevant
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone with a strong mix of commercial drive, care sector expertise and proven business development ability. You should have:
- Proven experience in a business development, sales or growth-focused role within the care sector
- Strong knowledge of live-in care
- A solid understanding of the health and social care landscape
- Knowledge of local authority commissioning, tenders and framework opportunities
- A strong network of contacts and the ability to build credibility quickly
- A track record of generating and converting new business
- Confidence working in a field-based, target-driven role
- Strong negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills
- A practical, results-led mindset
- The ability to work independently and with pace
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly
Desirable experience
- Experience working with private client live-in care enquiries
- Knowledge of NHS and hospital discharge pathways
- Experience engaging with case managers, brokers and other professional referrers
- Experience supporting wider teams with commercial best practice
- Exposure to franchise or multi-site environments
