An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Fabrications Designer / Estimator to join a growing aluminium manufacturing and fabrication business.
The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality, accurate CAD/Solid Works drawings for customer approval and manufacturing purposes, while also supporting the estimating function by preparing quotations and project costings.
This role requires excellent technical knowledge, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects within agreed timescales. Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed and accurate CAD and/or Solid Works drawings for manufacturing and client approval.
- Complete any relevant technical calculations required for projects.
- Maintain and update CAD systems, CRM systems, project records, and company processes.
- Create estimates and quotations from architectural and technical drawings.
- Prepare quotations within agreed timescales using company CRM systems.
- Obtain and review third-party supplier quotations where required.
- Process and manage new enquiries from customers and internal stakeholders.
- Provide technical support and guidance to the fabrication team.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and site surveyors.
- Respond professionally and efficiently to technical queries and project-related issues.
- Keep up to date with industry developments, products, manufacturing methods, and relevant legislation.
- Attend training and development activities as required.
What We're Looking For
- Experience producing detailed fabrication drawings using CAD and/or Solid Works.
- Ability to interpret architectural, technical, and manufacturing drawings.
- Experience preparing quotations, estimates, or project costings would be advantageous.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
