Role: HGV Class 1 Driver (C+E)

Job Type: Temp to Perm (Permanent after 12 weeks)

Shifts: Monday to Friday (Days)

Overtime: Occasional Saturdays available

Pay Rates (PAYE – Including Holiday Pay):

  • £17.00 per hour (£19.06 with holiday pay) – first 52.5 hours
  • £21.00 per hour (£23.54 with holiday pay) – after 52.5 hours
  • Saturday Overtime: £25.50 per hour (£28.58 with holiday pay)

The Role – Class 1 Steel Driver

We are recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers for a well-established steel distribution operation based in Scunthorpe. This role involves delivering steel products to customers across the UK, working with a modern fleet and well-organised transport team.

Duties include:

  • Delivering steel products to commercial and industrial sites
  • Securing loads safely using ratchet straps and chains
  • Carrying out daily vehicle checks and completing paperwork
  • Ensuring all deliveries are completed safely and on time
  • Adhering to driver hours, tachograph, and health & safety regulations

Requirements:

  • Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence
  • Minimum 1 year Class 1 experience
  • Valid Driver CPC & Digital Tachograph Card
  • Maximum 6 points (no major endorsements)
  • Experience with flatbed or steel work is necessary
  • Comfortable with load securing (strapping/chaining)
  • Strong work ethic and reliable attitude
