Hygiene Operative (Nights) Location: Burnley Pay Rate: £13.78 per hour (increasing to £14.18 per hour after AWR) Hours: 40 hours per week Shift Pattern: Sunday: 9:00pm to 5:30am Monday to Thursday: 9:30pm to 6:00am The Role We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and motivated Hygiene Operative to join their night shift hygiene team. This position is initially offered through the agency with a view to securing a permanent role for the right candidate. The successful applicant will play a key role in maintaining exceptional hygiene standards across the production facility, ensuring equipment and working areas are cleaned thoroughly and safely. Key Responsibilities Deep cleaning of production machinery and equipment Dismantling machines for cleaning and reassembling them correctly Cleaning large walk-in rotating ovens Cleaning walls, floors, ceilings, ducting, pipework, and elevated areas Working at height using suitable access equipment Following COSHH, Hygiene, Food Safety, and Health & Safety procedures Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the site Supporting continuous improvement of hygiene standards Candidate Requirements Essential Good written and spoken English Physically fit and capable of carrying out demanding manual work Comfortable working at height Strong attention to detail Good understanding of hygiene and safe working practices Reliable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic Desirable Previous industrial cleaning or hygiene experience within a manufacturing or food production environment Knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety procedures IPAF Licence or willingness to undertake IPAF training Training Full training will be provided through a structured buddying programme with experienced Hygiene Operatives, giving successful candidates the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills required to perform the role safely and effectively.
