We are recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join the Quality Assurance team at our Ellesmere Port based client. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to play a key role in maintaining and improving quality standards across a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across supplier and engineering quality issues, supporting manufacturing operations and ensuring robust solutions are delivered quickly and effectively.
The Role
As Quality Engineer, you will support Press, Body, Paint and General Assembly areas, working closely with internal teams, suppliers, customers and service providers to maintain product quality and continuity of production.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership to Manufacturing and Quality Operations teams, ensuring internal and external supplier quality standards are maintained.
- Respond quickly to customer and production quality issues, containing problems and implementing effective solutions.
- Build strong working relationships with suppliers, customers and service providers to support clear communication and effective issue resolution.
- Escalate outstanding engineering concerns to the appropriate QPEL and Design teams, steering critical issues through the Stellantis engineering escalation process.
About You
We are looking for a confident and proactive Quality Engineer with a strong engineering background and the ability to make sound decisions in a busy manufacturing environment.
- Relevant qualification, ideally equivalent to CMI Level 5, with willingness to work towards CMI Level 7 preferred but not essential.
- Strong engineering background, ideally gained within automotive, manufacturing or supplier quality environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, sound judgement and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Ability to build trust and maintain effective working relationships across cross-functional teams.
- Good understanding of supplier quality processes and engineering escalation routes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to communicate at all levels internally and externally.
