We are currently recruiting for HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join a well-established and growing haulage operation based in Ilkeston (DE7). This is an excellent opportunity to secure ongoing, full-time work with strong earning potential and the option of tramping.
The Role: As a Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods across the UK, working as part of a professional transport team. Duties include:
- Operating Class 1 (C+E) vehicles in line with road safety regulations
- Carrying out deliveries and collections to farms, customers, and depots
- Loading and unloading cargo, ensuring goods are secure during transit
- Planning routes effectively to meet delivery schedules
- Completing vehicle checks before and after shifts and reporting defects
- Maintaining accurate delivery paperwork and logs
- Delivering a high standard of customer service on-site
- Following all health & safety and transport regulations
The role involves a mix of driving, physical work, and customer interaction, so a proactive and professional attitude is essential.
Pay Rates:
- Monday – Friday: £15.00 per hour (£16.81 with holiday pay)
- Over 50 hours per week: £16.00 per hour (£17.93 with holiday pay)
- Saturday: £16.00 per hour (£17.93 with holiday pay)
- Sunday: £17.00 per hour (£19.05 with holiday pay)
- Night Out Allowance (tramping): £25.00 per night
What We're Looking For:
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Valid CPC & Digital Tachograph card
- Experience with articulated or curtain-side vehicles preferred
- Good understanding of UK road safety regulations
- Ability to carry out manual handling where required
- Reliable, professional, and customer-focused
