Hygiene Supervisor – Food Manufacturing Site – Immediate Start We are urgently recruiting experienced Hygiene Supervisors for AM and PM shift to support hygiene operations within our food manufacturing site.
You will ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, food safety, and compliance across the production environment, consistent with both company and customer expectations.
Your role is central to maintaining site quality and safety standards, supervising hygiene teams, and ensuring all cleaning activities are completed to the required standard.
Working Hours Monday to Friday AM Shift: 6AM–2PM PM Shift: 2PM–10PM Pay Rates Standard rate: £16.38 per hour Overtime (Mon–Sat): £20.48 per hour Sunday overtime: £24.57 per hour Key Responsibilities Shift leadership - Supervise hygiene operatives and ensure the team structure is fit for purpose.
Health & Safety compliance - Maintain safe working practices in line with HSWA and COSHH regulations.
Chemical management - Oversee safe handling, storage, and titration checks of cleaning chemicals.
Hygiene standards - Ensure all areas are cleaned to required standards and within allocated timeframes.
Training & development - Deliver training, maintain the training matrix, and ensure staff competency.
Audit readiness - Complete documentation, CICs, SOPs, and daily post-hygiene audits.
Continuous improvement - Support initiatives to reduce OOS swabs and improve micro results.
Waste management - Ensure correct segregation and disposal of waste and recyclables.
Incident reporting - Report near misses, accidents, and equipment faults promptly.
Essential Experience & Skills Previous experience in a supervisory hygiene role within food manufacturing.
Strong understanding of HACCP, food safety, allergen awareness, COSHH, and BRC standards.
Ability to prioritise workload, manage resources, and work under pressure.
Strong communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Flexibility regarding working hours and duties.
