Our client is a well-established engineering manufacturer looking to recruit an experienced CNC Milling Machine Operator / Setter to join their production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating the machine, loading materials and tooling, adjusting offsets and producing high-quality components to engineering specifications. Please note: this is not a programming role. The role is focused on machine setting, operating, and machining components accurately.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate an XYZ SMX 4000 milling machine.
- Use a ProtoTRAK / ProTRAK controller as part of day-to-day machine operation.
- Load and secure materials, tooling and fixtures.
- Adjust tooling, machine settings and fixture offsets as required.
- Read, interpret and work from engineering drawings.
- Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
- Experience operating CNC milling machines.
- Confident using measuring equipment such as verniers.
- Good understanding of health and safety within a machine shop environment.
- Experience using a ProtoTRAK / ProTRAK controller.
- Experience machining of stainless steel or similar engineering materials.

- Previous machining experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
