Our client is a well-established chartered accountancy, business advisory, and financial planning firm with offices in Blackburn and Bury. With a strong reputation across the North West, the firm provides integrated services including audit, accounting, corporate finance, cloud accounting, tax, payroll, and financial planning, allowing teams to work collaboratively and deliver joined-up advice to clients.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced audit professional to join the Audit, Accounting & Advisory team as a Supervisor. This role offers responsibility for managing client assignments, leading audit engagements, and supporting the development of junior team members.

Approximately 75% of the role will focus on statutory audits, with the remainder involving year-end accounts preparation and advisory projects for corporate and owner-managed clients. Work closely with managers, directors, and partners to deliver high-quality audits while building strong client relationships. Work will take place at client premises across Lancashire and Greater Manchester, in the office, and occasionally from home under the firm's flexible working policy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead audit engagements for a range of SME and owner-managed businesses
  • Review financial statements and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior team members
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Support managers and partners with planning and delivery of assignments

What we're looking for

  • ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 4+ years' experience in external audit within practice
  • Proven experience leading audits and supervising junior staff
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills
  • Ambitious and motivated to progress towards Assistant Manager / Manager level
