Prolific is not just another player in the AI space – we are the architects of the human data infrastructure that's reshaping the landscape of AI development. In a world where foundational AI technologies are increasingly commoditised, it's the quality and diversity of human-generated data that truly differentiates products and models.

Prolific for Research helps researchers reach the right participants for their study and run more sophisticated, higher-value research. That includes work on helping researchers find exactly who they need for a study, and on supporting research studies that are more complex in scope or duration than a single one-off survey. We're looking for a Product Manager to take ownership of the next phase of the Research roadmap, scaling what's already shipped, growing adoption, and iterating based on researcher feedback.

The nature of the projects/work that this role will cover means that the role can be offered as either a fixed-term employee or contractor basis.

Impact: You'll own the outcomes of a small, stream-aligned team within our Research Group. Online research is changing fast amid AI-tools that are re-shaping the playing field and raising the expectations and challenges of providing trustworthy samples.

Experience: You'll bring a track record of shipping and scaling products that simplify complex workflows for demanding professional or enterprise users, and know how to use data and user behaviour to inform decisions. Experience building for researchers or research tools is a plus, but we're just as interested in strong product fundamentals from elsewhere.

Domain: This is core to Prolific's 2026 strategy, and to how we deepen our value for research customers ranging from individual academics to institutional and enterprise accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • You'll product manage a small team of engineers, hands-on with discovery and delivery, and accountable for delivering key outcomes.
  • You'll work closely with fellow Product Managers across Research and AI, the VP of Research, and collaborators across human data operations, integrity, support, science, sales, and client services.

Culture: Adding on to our Prolific Principles, we expect colleagues in the Product, Research, and Design Group to demonstrate reliability, grit, diplomacy, a bias for action, and a dogged focus on value – you'll be a champion of these behaviours yourself, and in the culture of your team. Accountability and autonomy are two sides of the same coin, and we expect you to demonstrate both.

What you'll be doing:

  • Help researchers find exactly the participants they need for a study, beyond broad demographic targeting.
  • Grow adoption of more ambitious study designs, such as research that runs longer or asks more of participants than a single one-off survey.
  • Own the supporting tools that make these more advanced study types easier to run.
  • Run the day-to-day product lifecycle for your areas: prioritisation, delivery, measurement, and iteration.
  • Be an unblocker and simplifier of complexity: colleagues will bring you problems, and emerge optimistic, with solutions.
  • Partner closely with Engineering and Design as a tight product trio, in a test-learn-iterate fashion.

What you’ll bring:

  • A track record working embedded in technology teams alongside engineers and designers.
  • A builder mindset and experience with AI tools and workflows for PMs.
  • Experience shipping for demanding professional or enterprise users, research, survey, or data-collection tools, or complex B2B workflows, are all relevant.
  • Fluency in modern Product/Engineering practice: Agile, continuous discovery and delivery, JTBD, vertical slicing, test-learn-iterate.
  • Strong commercial acumen and data-informed decision-making, paired with a storyteller's flair and a relentless can-do attitude.

Even better if you have:

  • Experience building for the academic or research sector, or with expert networks, panels, or credentialing.
