Prolific is not just another player in the AI space – we are the architects of the human data infrastructure that's reshaping the landscape of AI development. In a world where foundational AI technologies are increasingly commoditized, it's the quality and diversity of human-generated data that truly differentiates products and models.
As we scale our AI Product Group, we're looking for a Senior Product Manager to take founder-level ownership of the tooling that lets frontier AI model developers conduct cutting-edge research on Prolific. Increasingly, our AI customers are among the leading AI companies in the world, and this role will additionally lead a team of client-facing engineers dedicated to building strategic integrations and rapid, bespoke development for their most demanding needs. You'll report into the AI Lead, and join a brilliant team of Product Managers building next-generation AI tooling within our AI Product Group.
Impact
You'll be the Product person accountable for the outcomes of a stream-aligned team building next-gen tooling for frontier AI model developers, and also prioritise for impact the work of a client-facing engineering team. This is a career-defining moment to shape how some of the world's biggest technology companies build AI – no big deal. You'll own how our most strategic AI clients experience Prolific end to end, from product to bespoke integration.
Experience
You'll bring experience building AI native systems, with particular experience building AI native UX. You'll have had success taking complex human workflows and distilling them into highly adaptable technical systems, then scaling access to those systems across multiple interaction surfaces – UI, APIs, CLIs, and MCPs. You'll also have experience directly managing engineers, ideally in a client-facing or solutions-engineering capacity, and know how to turn a sophisticated client's bespoke needs into a scalable integration rather than a one-off fix.
Domain
You will manage two teams which together give you unmatched closeness and opportunity to build tools for the companies and researchers driving the AI frontier. The Data Collection Tooling team is responsible for building and scaling the systems that enable high-quality human data collection for AI training and evaluation. Additionally, the strategic integrations team interfaces directly with our biggest AI accounts for custom builds. It's critical that the person in this role prioritises both intuitively and systematically, and is a master at the elegant art of trade-offs between the here and now and the future.
Responsibilities
- You'll product manage a stream-aligned team of your own, and lead a team of client-facing engineers delivering strategic integrations and rapid, custom development for our most strategic AI accounts.
- You'll be accountable for the outcomes of both, and be the key driver of interaction with your peer teams, collaborating across domains of science, research, supply, sales, and account services.
Culture
Adding on to our Prolific Principles, we expect colleagues in the Product, Research, and Design Group to demonstrate reliability, grit, diplomacy, a bias for action, and a dogged focus on value – you'll be a champion of these behaviours yourself, and in the culture of your team. Accountability and autonomy are two sides of the same coin, and we expect you to demonstrate both.
What you'll be doing
- Build and launch the next generation of Prolific's Data Collection Tooling product suite.
- Lead a team of client-facing engineers delivering strategic integrations and rapid, custom development for our most demanding AI accounts.
- Stay up to speed with the rapidly changing face of frontier AI research, keeping your product ahead of customer needs.
- Run the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from strategy to success metrics to roadmap, delivery, and iteration – communicating that strategy clearly to executives while working through the details with your team.
- Be an unblocker and simplifier of complexity: colleagues will bring you problems, and emerge optimistic, with solutions.
- Partner productively with Product Design, User Research, Analytics, and Engineering in a test-learn-iterate fashion.
What you'll bring
- An extensive and varied track record building AI-native products and UX, including scaling access across multiple interaction surfaces such as UI, APIs, CLIs, and MCPs.
- Experience directly managing engineers, ideally in a client-facing or solutions-engineering capacity, and turning sophisticated clients' bespoke needs into scalable integrations.
- Fluency in modern Product/Engineering practice: Agile, continuous discovery and delivery, JTBD, vertical slicing, test-learn-iterate.
- Strong commercial acumen and data-informed decision-making, paired with a storyteller's flair and a relentless can-do attitude.
Even better if you have
- Experience building for or with frontier AI labs or major technology companies.
- A track record of giving back to your Product community.
