Prolific is not just another player in the AI space – we are the architects of the human data infrastructure that's reshaping the landscape of AI development. In a world where foundational AI technologies are increasingly commoditized, it's the quality and diversity of human-generated data that truly differentiates products and models.

We're looking for a Senior Expert Acquisition Lead to join our Human Data Operations team, the team responsible for building and scaling the global network of expert contributors that powers our customers' AI training, evaluation and research. This isn't traditional recruitment. Rather than hiring employees, you'll design and scale the acquisition strategies, sourcing engines and systems that enable us to attract, engage and onboard highly specialised experts across software engineering, healthcare, finance and other in-demand domains.

This is a high-impact, high-ownership role for someone who enjoys solving complex acquisition challenges. You'll combine hands-on sourcing with strategic thinking, continuously testing new approaches, improving conversion and building repeatable processes that make expert acquisition faster, smarter and more scalable. Working closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science and the wider Human Data Operations team, you'll help ensure we can rapidly build high-quality expert communities that meet evolving customer demand. Success isn't measured by how many people you recruit. It's measured by how effectively you build scalable acquisition systems that consistently deliver exceptional experts.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • 7+ years' experience building acquisition strategies for specialist talent, expert communities or difficult-to-reach professional audiences.
  • Experience working within marketplaces, expert networks, crowdsourcing platforms, talent platforms or other two-sided ecosystems is highly desirable.
  • A proven track record of building scalable sourcing strategies rather than simply executing existing recruitment processes.
  • Strong experience sourcing specialist or technical audiences across multiple domains or geographies.
  • Experience improving acquisition funnels through experimentation, conversion optimisation and data-driven decision making.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using acquisition metrics to evaluate channel performance, funnel health and growth opportunities.
  • Experience building dashboards, reporting or operational metrics that improve visibility and decision making.
  • Confidence working cross-functionally with technical stakeholders, including Product, Engineering and Data Science teams.
  • Experience using CRM, sourcing, recruitment or growth tooling, with an eye for automation and process improvement.
  • A structured, first-principles approach to solving ambiguous problems and building processes where none exist.

What you’ll be doing in the role:

  • Build and execute scalable acquisition strategies to attract expert contributors across specialist domains such as software engineering, healthcare and finance.
  • Own the end-to-end expert acquisition journey, from sourcing and outreach through to onboarding, continually improving speed, quality and conversion.
  • Design and improve the systems, processes and playbooks that enable expert acquisition to scale efficiently.
  • Use data to optimise acquisition performance, identifying opportunities to improve sourcing channels, funnel conversion and expert quality.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science and Human Data Operations to solve complex acquisition challenges and support customer demand.
  • Help shape and mature Prolific's expert acquisition function by bringing new ideas, challenging existing approaches and building scalable ways of working.

Why Prolific is a great place to work:

We've built a unique platform that connects researchers and companies with a global pool of participants, enabling the collection of high-quality, ethically sourced human behavioral data and feedback. This data is the cornerstone of developing more accurate, nuanced, and aligned AI systems. By providing this crucial human data infrastructure, Prolific is positioning itself at the forefront of the next wave of AI innovation – one that reflects the breadth and the best of humanity. Working for us will place you at the forefront of AI innovation, providing access to our unique human data platform and opportunities for groundbreaking research.
