The role of Growth Data Science & Analytics sits at the heart of Prolific and owns Prolific's growth framework. The role answers questions like: where are our biggest opportunities, what's constraining our growth, and where should we invest next? This ex‐Co facing leadership position requires you to manage a team of three embedded data scientists & analysts, own the analytics roadmap across our business verticals, and serve as the senior data voice in cross‐functional and ExCo‐level conversations.
What you'll be doing in the role:
- Lead and manage a team of three embedded data scientists & analysts
- Own weekly planning, prioritisation, and delivery oversight across the team's workstreams
- Act as line manager and primary point of escalation, supporting individual contributor development and day‐to‐day work
- Manage intake processes and stakeholder expectations across business verticals
- Serve as the senior analytics partner to the Executive Committee, presenting data‐led insights on marketplace health, revenue performance, and growth
- Own and maintain key reporting surface across our BI infrastructure
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear, measured narratives for senior audiences
- Build trusted relationships with cross‐functional partners across all functions
What you'll bring to the role:
- Proven experience leading a data and analytics team, ideally in a marketplace or platform business, and managing and developing analysts and data scientists at different seniority levels
- Strong commercial instincts – you understand how data connects to business outcomes and can communicate that to non‐technical leaders
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, including experience presenting to or advising executive teams
- Hands‐on SQL proficiency – comfortable getting into the detail when needed
- Comfortable picking up mid‐flight work and operating without a long handover runway
- Prior experience in a scale‐up or growth‐stage company is a plus
