Our client is a global Tier 1 in the automotive industry and is looking for a Plant Manager in Wales. We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead a large, high-volume manufacturing site for an international Tier 1 supplier. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance across the full plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead overall plant operations, including production, engineering, maintenance, quality, logistics, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure the site consistently meets customer requirements for quality, delivery, and cost.
- Drive plant performance through clear KPIs, strong daily management, and disciplined problem-solving.
- Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with business goals and customer expectations.
- Lead plant budget, cost control, and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Build a strong safety culture and ensure full compliance with HSE regulations and company standards.
- Manage and develop a high-performing leadership team across all functions.
- Support customer visits, audits, and key business reviews with international OEM and Tier 1 customers.
- Lead capacity planning, industrialization, and new project launches.
- Champion lean manufacturing, process optimization, and continuous improvement programs.
- Work closely with central functions, global leadership, and cross-functional teams across multiple countries.
- Identify risks early and implement corrective actions to protect delivery, quality, and business continuity.
Requirements
- Proven experience as Plant Manager, Operations Manager, or similar senior manufacturing leader.
- Strong background in Tier 1 automotive or other high-volume industrial manufacturing environments.
- Experience managing a large plant with complex operations and international customers.
- Deep understanding of production, quality, supply chain, engineering, and HSE.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and align large teams.
- Excellent financial and commercial awareness.
- Demonstrated success in delivering operational improvements, cost reductions, and stable plant performance.
- Experience working in a matrix organization and with international stakeholders.
- Strong communication and decision-making skills.
- Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field preferred.
