Duration: Approx. 9 months (Design Phase), with the potential for extension into the Procurement & Construction Phase

Travel Requirements: Frequent travel to client sites in Scotland. Remote candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Quality Management System during the design phase of the EPC contract.
  • Ensure design outputs comply with UK and Scottish quality legislation and industry best practices.
  • Provide technical quality input, particularly in civil, structural, and dam engineering contexts.
  • Represent the project in client meetings on-site, presenting quality integration strategies.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, H&S and client teams to embed quality standards early in the design process.
  • Prepare and maintain project quality documentation and reports.
  • Support both internal and client-led audits of design quality compliance; manage and close out non-conformances (NCRs).
  • Deliver quality briefings and presentations to stakeholders and subcontractors transitioning from design to construction.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Previous experience in hydropower sector gained within the last 2 years.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK quality law.
  • Demonstrated ability to embed quality processes in design workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with pumped-storage hydro, dams, tunnels, or heavy infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Confident presenter, especially in client design review meetings.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across Scotland. UK work eligibility is required for non-residents.
