Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Sign Maker role based in Pitstone. The Sign Maker will be responsible for manufacturing a range of signs using printers, cutters, laminators, and other production equipment, ensuring work meets quality standards and client specifications. Day‑to‑day tasks include preparing artwork files, operating machinery, applying vinyl, assembling signage, and maintaining a clean and safe workshop. The role involves collaborating with colleagues, assisting with installations when required, and adhering to project timelines. The Sign Maker will also support continuous improvement by suggesting better materials or methods and following company procedures and health and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Practical sign‑making skills, including experience with vinyl application, printing, cutting, and laminating.
- Basic design and artwork preparation skills, ideally with familiarity in layout or graphics software.
- Strong attention to detail and quality control, with the ability to follow specifications and measure accurately.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative approach to working in a workshop environment.
- Ability to work safely with tools and machinery, following health and safety procedures at all times.
- Reliable time management and organizational skills to handle multiple jobs and meet deadlines.
- Previous experience in signage, print production, or a related manufacturing trade is beneficial.
- A relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in print, signage, or fabrication is an advantage but not essential.
