About the role:

As a Data Engineer / Data Architect, you will lead the design and delivery of enterprise-level data solutions. Working closely with stakeholders across financial services, you will leverage your expertise to build scalable architectures, optimise data pipelines, and ensure data enables strategic decision-making.

You’ll bring not just technical expertise but also a consultancy mindset, enabling you to understand client needs and drive impactful data strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implementation of robust, scalable enterprise data architectures.

  • Develop and optimise modern data warehousing systems and data models (e.g., dimensional, data vault).

  • Build and maintain efficient ETL processes and scalable data pipelines.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex data requirements into innovative technical solutions.

  • Ensure data quality, governance, and security, aligning with industry and regulatory standards.

  • Act as a mentor to junior engineers, sharing knowledge and driving best practices.

What we are looking for:

  • You bring 5+ years of experience in data architecture and engineering, with a proven ability to deliver enterprise-level solutions.

  • Experience in financial services consultancy.

  • Knowledge of data modelling techniques (dimensional modelling, data vault, etc.).

  • Proficiency in SQL and Python.

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (preferably Snowflake and/or Databricks).

  • A consultative approach to problem-solving, with strong interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in financial services, regulated environments, or as part of a consultancy team is highly advantageous.

  • Familiarity with tools like DBT, Fivetran, Dataiku, or Alteryx.

  • Interest or experience in AI/ML and real-world application to data engineering solutions.

  • Knowledge of data governance and compliance requirements in the financial sector.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

  • Certifications in leading platforms such as SnowPro, AWS, Azure, or GCP are a plus.
