The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 € per hour.

Hourly rate: £15 (with potential for increase with experience/following probation)

Work pattern: Predominantly weekday evenings

Location: Various around Glasgow / East Dumbartonshire (predominantly Anniesland/Bearsden/Bishopbriggs area)

Job purpose: We are looking for a flexible, hardworking and ambitious coach to work predominantly within a netball and girls football setting, with opportunities to work across different sports in our small group coaching classes and growing client portfolio. This role is suitable for a strength and conditioning coach who is looking to build their coaching experience, learn and focus on youth athlete development in sport, and/or supplement their current work or study commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and successfully delivering, and designing under guidance, physical preparation programmes focusing on enhancement of strength, power, speed, movement skills, agility, flexibility, and conditioning, as well as injury prevention/rehabilitation for a variety of team and individual sports and athletes.
  • Ensuring the safe and correct execution of exercise techniques during sessions.
  • Evaluating each athlete’s development (including profiling when completed) by monitoring and recording progress, before reporting this to the athletes and coaches in an engaging manner.
  • Collaborating with other coaches and stakeholders to ensure the delivery of high‑quality, effective coaching sessions.
  • Maintaining an open line of communication with the other members of staff, and working collaboratively within the team.
  • Maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with athletes and coaches.
  • Reporting in monthly meetings the progress and impact of your coaching.
  • Engaging with CPD and mentoring activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree in Sports Science, Strength and Conditioning or similar (or working towards finishing this in 6 months) OR Level 3 PT Qualification OR Level 4 S&C qualification.
  • Experience delivering physical preparation sessions in a sporting setting, with youth athletes from a variety of age groups (although predominantly teenagers).
  • Experience working in a team of people.
  • Drivers Licence and own car (or ability to use one).
  • UKSCA accreditation or S&C Trainer, CSCS or ASCA (or ability to work towards).
  • Experience working in performance sport.
  • Demonstrable experience of how to apply the principles of long‑term athletic development in programming and planning.
  • Experience of building and managing coach relationships and basing training programmes on their needs as well as the needs of the athletes.
