Overview

Project Slingshot is a bold new global initiative launching in 2026 with one mission: to end factory farming. We do this by exposing the lies, cruelty, and power of Big Ag through disruptive campaigns that cut through the noise, capture public attention, and build unstoppable momentum for change. We’re unapologetic, fast-moving, and impact-driven. We don’t just want to participate in the conversation — we want to change it.

The Role

As Digital & Email Marketing Director (UK), you will lead our UK digital strategy, ensuring our campaigns are not just seen, but felt. You’ll be responsible for building and managing high-impact digital and email marketing programs that mobilize supporters, grow audiences, and deliver powerful content across multiple platforms. You’ll work closely with our global team, but with the autonomy to localize and innovate for the UK context — ensuring every piece of content, every email, every ad campaign resonates and drives action, reaching diverse audiences and delivering ambitious, measurable outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement bold, high-impact social media and digital marketing strategies tailored to UK audiences.
  • Drive paid media campaigns (primarily META & other key platforms), ensuring ROI and audience growth.
  • Use data, testing, and insights to evolve strategies and stay ahead of trends.
  • Experiment with AI-driven content testing and emerging creative tools to stay ahead of industry messaging.
Email & CRM
  • Lead segmented email marketing campaigns that drive engagement, action, and donor conversion.
  • Build automations and journeys that nurture supporters through the funnel.
  • Constantly refine audience segmentation and personalization.
Content & Storytelling
  • Oversee creation of disruptive, compelling, and on-brand digital content (copy, visuals, video).
  • Craft impactful storytelling and copywriting that inspires, provokes, and mobilizes.
  • Create and adapt content in line with Slingshot’s satirical, bold voice, including meme culture, parody ads, and trend hijacking.
  • Ensure consistency and quality across all channels.
Analytics & Optimization
  • Monitor KPIs across social, email, and digital campaigns.
  • Produce actionable insights from analytics to inform strategy.
  • Use performance data to test, iterate, and continually improve.
  • Build and mentor a small UK Team.
  • Collaborate closely with global colleagues to align strategies and share learnings.
  • Ensure UK digital campaigns amplify and complement Project Slingshot’s global campaigns.
You’ll Thrive in This Role If You
  • Have prior experience in digital marketing, campaign strategy, or movement-building — ideally with a cause-driven brand or bold advocacy group.
  • Are deeply familiar with social justice messaging, digital organizing, and content-led engagement strategies.
  • Have led teams and know how to mentor, challenge, and support high performers.
  • Proven success in social media, paid ads, and email/CRM strategies.
  • Deep knowledge of META Ads Manager, email marketing platforms (e.g. GetResponse, Mailchimp, Campaign Monitor, or similar), analytics tools, and automation systems.
  • Sharp instinct for satire and storytelling, with confidence in producing disruptive, provocative content that challenges corporate narratives.
  • Skilled at using audience insights to craft strategies that inspire action.
  • Strong copywriting skills, with a knack for storytelling that is bold, disruptive, and emotionally compelling.
  • Track record of driving audience growth and measurable impact.
  • Data-driven, experimental, and never satisfied with “good enough.”
  • Knowledge of and experience in farmed animal advocacy, broader animal protection, or high-profile nonprofit campaigning — with the ability to translate complex issues into powerful, public-facing narratives.
  • Passion for Project Slingshot’s mission and a hunger to play a part in ending factory farming.
What Success in This Role Looks Like
  • Growth in audience size and engagement across platforms
  • Lead acquisition, conversion rates, and supporter retention
  • Performance of high-impact campaigns — from reach and earned media to actions taken
  • Strength of internal marketing processes and cross-team collaboration
  • Cultural presence and brand salience across social justice spaces
What We Offer
  • Opportunity to shape the digital voice of one of the most disruptive movements in animal advocacy.
  • Collaborative, mission-driven culture that rewards bold ideas and results.
  • Flexible, remote working environment (UK-based).
  • Competitive salary in the region of £55,000 – £60,000 per year + benefits.
