Financial Data Analyst - Hedge Funds

Our client, a leading organization in finance, technology and financial news sector, is looking for a diligent and highly motivated individual to join their dynamic team. This is a temporary contract running until the end of June 2026, with the potential for an extension of up to 12 months. The role has an immediate start date and would suit a candidate with a strong analytical mind and a demonstrable interest in financial markets.

Your responsibilities would involve maintaining coverage of pricing and reference data across a designated universe of hedge fund tickers. You will also provide operational continuity and backfill support, as well as assist with re-procurement activities, such as contacting clients by email to request missing data.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of hedge funds and be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. They should possess excellent communication skills, demonstrate strong interpersonal abilities, and show keen attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain coverage of pricing and reference data across a designated universe of hedge fund tickers.
  • Provide operational continuity and backfill support for core daily processes.
  • Assist with re-procurement activities, including sending email requests to clients for missing data.
  • Monitor data flows, troubleshoot discrepancies, and escalate issues where necessary to ensure consistent data quality.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery.
  • Uphold high standards of accuracy and attention to detail in all outputs.

Key Requirements

  • Strong knowledge/understanding of Hedge Funds
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Proven ability to manage data with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Verbal & Written) demonstrated in client facing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Keen attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Effective project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast pace changing environment
  • Knowledge of information technology, statistical analysis, or programming (e.g., SQL, Python, advanced Excel).
  • Prior experience in financial services, hedge funds, or data operation
