We are partnering with a leading Telecommunications company to recruit a professional Mobile Telecoms Solution Architect to develop and sell infrastructure solutions to mobile network operators on behalf of a telecommunications tower company. It works across sales, engineering, property, construction, operations and commercial teams to shape opportunities, respond to tenders and ensure that proposed solutions meet operator, regulatory and technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with mobile network operators to understand coverage, capacity, densification, rollout, resilience and site-sharing requirements.
  • Lead technical discoveries for new-build, co-location, upgrade, infill and network-modernization opportunities.
  • Translate operator requirements into tower, rooftop, monopole, street works, small-cell and in-building coverage solutions.
  • Assess site feasibility, structural loading, compound capacity, access, power, transmission, planning and landlord constraints.
  • Review operator radio-planning information, including antenna configurations, equipment weights, azimuths, heights, sectors and technology requirements.
  • Develop co-location and multi-operator solutions that optimize infrastructure utilization while maintaining safety, performance and maintainability.
  • Work with structural engineers to assess tower loading, wind loading, foundation capacity and equipment-mounting requirements.
  • Define requirements for cabinets, shelters, equipment platforms, cable ladders, feeders, antenna mounts, power systems, earthing and security.
  • Coordinate with transmission and connectivity specialists where sites require fiber, microwave, backhaul or other network-access services.
  • Explain the technical, commercial and operational advantages of proposed infrastructure solutions to operator stakeholders.
  • Identify deviations, exclusions, dependencies, risks and opportunities in customer requirements.
  • Work with commercial teams to develop pricing models, business cases and customer proposals.
  • Ensure proposed solutions comply with relevant safety, planning, structural, environmental and telecommunications standards.
  • Provide technical assurance through design, construction, commissioning and handover.
  • Support mobilization of new contracts, including site surveys, design standards, governance processes and delivery assumptions.
  • Build trusted relationships with operator engineering, rollout, procurement, property and commercial teams.

They will understand that mobile network operators are buying not simply towers, but reliable, scalable and compliant infrastructure that enables network performance, rapid deployment and long-term operational efficiency.

Required Experience:

  • Experience in mobile telecommunications infrastructure, tower companies, managed networks, network rollout or telecoms construction.
  • Understanding of mobile network deployment and the infrastructure required by 4G and 5G operators.
  • Ability to interpret operator technical requirements, radio-planning information and equipment schedules.
  • Understanding of structural loading, antenna mounting, equipment installation, power, access and site constraints.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to convert technical scope into costed proposals.
  • Experience working with mobile network operators, infrastructure providers, contractors and equipment suppliers.
