Reporting to the Head of Strategic Reporting & Technical Accounting, this role is responsible for providing accounting and project management support on strategic accounting initiatives, particularly following the recent merger and other one-off material transactions.
You will support and prepare elements of financial reporting arising from strategic projects, building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels and developing a well-rounded understanding of the business. Strong stakeholder management is essential, as you will work across multiple areas of the business, demonstrating excellent presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and support technical accounting papers under IFRS, including IFRS 9, IFRS 15, and IFRS 16, for one-off and material transactions.
- Support the line manager and stakeholders in delivering accurate, timely, and complete financial reporting for strategic projects.
- Project manage multiple workstreams underpinning strategic reporting initiatives while building sustainable stakeholder relationships.
- Coordinate and lead with CFO teams and external advisors to deliver reporting to internal and external stakeholders efficiently.
- Challenge external advisors to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
- Support process improvements, reporting automation, and initiatives that drive better business outcomes.
- Ensure outputs meet internal and external quality standards and audit requirements.
Job Requirements & Experience:
- ACA or ACCA qualified, with proven experience in large finance functions.
- In-depth technical knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 9, IFRS 15, and IFRS 16.
- Experience in fast-paced, dynamic environments, preferably in telcos or large listed group structures.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, automation, and process improvements.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
- Proactive and credible delivery of complex project work.
Technical Expertise:
- Financial reporting under IFRS (and UK GAAP advantageous).
- Coordination of audits and provision of high-quality supporting documentation.
- Strategic management accounting and financial modelling to support business decisions.
- Planning, organising, and prioritising complex tasks and workstreams effectively.
