BI Developer Theale Hybrid 2-3 days in the office Main Purpose of the role The ideal candidate will work closely with various departments to understand their data needs and translate them into development tasks for data and Power BI reporting. This role is to deliver the end-to-end process of completing requests for business users; requirement gathering and documentation, development and UAT of reports and dashboards. Challenge user requests to ensure they meet true business needs and propose robust reporting solutions. Ensure effective and continuous communication with requests, enabling full understanding and agreement of reporting requirements. Act as an outward ambassador for the BI Team, collaborating with identified Power Users & contributing to the overall rollout of Power BI and reporting standards across the business. Recommend and continually improve approaches to source data construction, report development, Power BI dashboard design considerations, performance improvements, and monitoring. Key Responsibilities Deliver BAU work and report production, including review and continual development of the daily and overall report processes/controls to improve the performance and reliability of production and deliver business efficiencies. Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices. Manage the end-to-end process of Power BI requests for business users. Ensure requirements are appropriately documented using the agreed template. Obtain necessary approvals and develop Power BI reports to meet documented requirements. Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure reports meet user needs and expectations. Ensure timely delivery of reports and dashboards. Assist in the efficient and effective delivery of all aspects of issues, reporting, and development. Elicit, understand, and document user requirements for Power BI reports. Explore and challenge user requirements to ensure they meet true business needs. Design innovative and effective dashboards that provide valuable insights. Maintain the report catalogue to ensure it is up-to-date and comprehensive. Conduct root cause analysis of issues, take ownership, and develop solutions. Test and implement change requests to improve existing reports and dashboards.
