We are looking for an experienced HR Services Team Lead to join a dynamic HR function on an initial 6-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a high-performing HR Services team, ensuring the delivery of an exceptional employee experience while supporting business transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will lead, coach, and develop a team of HR Advisors and Administrators, overseeing the delivery of HR advice and support across the employee lifecycle. You will play a key role in driving service excellence, managing operational performance, and supporting the implementation of key HR initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of HR Advisors and Administrators.
  • Plan, prioritise, and manage team workloads to ensure service levels and SLAs are consistently achieved.
  • Monitor service delivery, identify risks, and implement effective mitigation plans.
  • Manage first-line escalations relating to HR processes, policies, employee relations, and employment legislation.
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll activities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Support the successful delivery of HR projects and transformation initiatives.
  • Lead by example, fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.
  • Manage the performance, development, and engagement of approximately six direct reports.
  • Produce and analyse weekly and monthly performance reports.
  • Review, document, and continuously improve HR processes to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience leading or supervising HR or shared services teams.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience delivering against service level agreements (SLAs) and operational KPIs.
  • Excellent understanding of HR policies, procedures, and UK employment legislation.
  • Experience handling complex HR queries and employee relations issues professionally and confidentially.
  • Strong knowledge of HR systems with the ability to extract, analyse, and report on data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Resilient and adaptable, with experience leading teams through periods of change.
  • Degree or CIPD qualification is desirable.
Key Performance Indicators
  • Achievement of SLAs, First Contact Resolution (FCR), and customer experience measures.
  • Team engagement and performance metrics.
  • Stakeholder satisfaction, escalations, and customer feedback.
  • Delivery of HR initiatives and project milestones.
