SHEQ Advisor Hours of work: Monday to Friday, (7.30-5pm, 1hr lunch break) Department: SHEQ Location: Kent / Sussex Salary: £40-50k + Car Allowance Project Partners are now recruiting for SHEQ Advisors based in West Sussex, Kent or Surrey. Have you got previous experience in a similar role? Do you have knowledge of civil engineering and the water industry? If the answer is yes, we want to hear from you! The SHEQ Advisor will be responsible for providing support and advice on all aspects of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality, meeting legal, regulatory and company standards and helping deliver a culture of continual improvement. Role Summary: * Produce reports on work/projects/activities carried out. * Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of legislation and any developments that affect the industry. * Act as a role model at all times in support of the company’s vision, priorities and values. * Deliver learning bulletins, toolbox talks and safety alerts about SHEQ issues. * Carry out D&A testing as required (training provided). * Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with procedures, laws and guidance. * Support incident investigations, analysing root causes, and support corrective action plans to prevent reoccurrence. * Report incidents in line with Company and Client requirements. * Provide SHEQ Inductions. * Attend company and client SHEQ meetings, as required. * Support the continuous development and implementation of management systems. * Review risk assessments, safe systems of work, construction phase health, safety and environmental management plans. Recommend mitigation strategies. * Identify training needs and escalating to the compliance manager, where appropriate. * Take part in employee meetings for SHEQ. * Actively participate in stand down events. * Carry out any other duties appropriate to this post Candidate Experience Required: * Proven experience in utilities or construction. * Knowledge of relevant SHEQ regulations, standards and best practice. * Demonstrate a genuine passion for safety, health, environmental and quality with a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development in this field. * Excellent interpersonal skills * Excellent on Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, Etc) * Strong communication skills to engage with diverse teams and stakeholders. * Ability to travel to operational sites in the Southeast, although nationwide travel may be required intermittently. * Ability to provide out of hours on call support (as required).
