Location: Balcombe, West Sussex

Role: Full-Time, Permanent, Monday – Friday

Hours: 7:30 – 17:30pm, 45 hrs (9 hrs with 1hr lunch break)

Salary: £50-70k + car allowance (competitive depending on experience)

Project Partners are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to join our clients team, leading commissioning activities for water and wastewater infrastructure projects under AMP 8. The role involves managing the commissioning process, commissioning engineers, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and delivering operationally ready assets.

Job Summary:

  • Develop and manage commissioning plans, including timelines, resources, and testing procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to company procedures, regulatory requirements, and project guidelines.
  • Oversee various testing procedures, including manual, automatic, and performance testing.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed commissioning records, including site observations, test results, and checklists.
  • Manage the commissioning team, including selection, training, and development.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers and clients throughout the commissioning process.
  • Ensure the quality of the commissioning process and the final product meets project requirements.
  • Manage the handover of the completed project to the client, ensuring they have the necessary documentation and support.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or problems that arise during the commissioning process.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in the commissioning process and implement changes to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.

Candidate Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in commissioning water/wastewater treatment projects.
  • Strong knowledge of AMP frameworks and UK water industry standards.
  • Experience working with contractors or water utility companies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of ICA (Instrumentation, Control & Automation) and process systems is desirable.

Qualifications Required:

  • Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Process Engineering.
  • CSCS, SMSTS, or equivalent safety certification.
  • Significant demonstrable experience in a construction/commissioning role some of which should be at a senior level.
