About the Role:

We are thrilled to be working with a client seeking an HR & Payroll Project Manager reporting to the Director of Finance Transformation. You will be responsible for scoping and delivering a key strategic project to introduce consistent and efficient processes and ways of working across the organisation. You will have a strong background in Payroll & HR project management, change management, and process optimisation. The ideal candidate should have demonstrated leadership abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a track record of successfully delivering complex projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Finance project leadership, to lead and manage the Payroll & HR project from start to finish, providing tactical oversight and ensuring its successful delivery.
  • Conduct a comprehensive review of existing payroll systems and processes.
  • Identify opportunities for streamlining and automation to enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer service.
  • Document the current 'As Is' state of payroll processes and outline the desired 'To Be' state, including well-documented financial controls and a clear route map for implementation.
  • Ensure all process, policy and knowledge documents, including training and communications, are created and maintained.
  • Lead and develop team members in finance transformation thinking including digital capability.
  • Support negotiations with external parties as required for the project's success.
  • Contribute to the development of a compelling business case that outlines the benefits and returns on investment.
  • Embed new processes, people & technologies into the team as needed.
  • End-to-End Project Implementation: Oversee and coordinate all activities related to project implementation, including build/configuration, testing, parallel running, data migration, communication, and training.
  • Proactively identify and escalate any project-related issues and risks to the Director of Finance Transformation. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address and resolve these challenges effectively.

Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • All-round Payroll Lead with a deep and diverse understanding of payroll processes, regulations and best practices.
  • Proven track record in managing end-to-end payroll operations, from data collection and processing to tax compliance and payment distribution.
  • Demonstrable experience in implementing and integrating HRIS and payroll software systems.
  • Proficient in working with various payroll systems and software, showcasing the ability to adapt to different platforms and streamline processes efficiently.
  • Experience in implementing and integrating payroll technology solutions is a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve high-performance levels. A leader who leads by example and fosters a positive and inclusive work culture.
