We are seeking a skilled and motivated Renewable Electrical Engineer to join our expanding team and play a key role in the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of renewable energy systems.
About the RoleAs a Renewable Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of renewable energy projects, including solar PV, battery storage systems, EV charging infrastructure, and other low-carbon technologies. You will work closely with project managers, clients, and installation teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities- Design, install, test, and commission renewable energy systems.
- Conduct site surveys and technical assessments.
- Prepare electrical designs, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults and system performance issues.
- Ensure all installations comply with current electrical regulations and industry standards.
- Carry out maintenance and inspection work on renewable energy assets.
- Support project planning, delivery, and completion activities.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal teams throughout project lifecycles.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, and testing.
- Qualified Electrician with relevant electrical certifications.
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
- Inspection and Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent desirable).
- Experience working with solar PV, battery storage, EV charging systems, or other renewable technologies.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, fault finding, and commissioning.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Solar PV installation and commissioning experience.
- Experience with battery energy storage systems.
- Knowledge of renewable energy regulations and industry standards.
- ECS Card.
- Experience using design software and monitoring platforms.
