Senior PHP Developer
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years commercial experience with PHP and MySQL working on a Linux server with good experience of Database Optimisation and Caching Technologies. You will sit just below the Tech Director and help perform some of the task that he does which are causing bottlenecks.
You will be working hand in hand with our passionate in-house developer team helping improve and grow, our high-end, scalable e-commerce platform. You will be expected to do development work, along with getting involved in spec writing, assisting PMs with project planning, code reviews, architecture overview and implementation and assisting with the Company road map.
You could either already be a Lead Developer/Development Manager etc. with full leadership over a development team.
Required Skills:
At Least 8+ years of Commercial Experience and Knowledge of:
- PHP
- MySQL, including database optimisation
- LAMP
- Linux
- MVC, ORM
- Unit Testing
- HTML
- CSS/XHTML
- JQuery
- Caching Technologies, such as MemCached, Redis or Varnish
- Ability to share and communicate ideas clearly, both orally and writing in impeccable English language
- Must have the ability to proactively lead development teams and provide technical direction
- Capacity to work independently or as part of a team and operate to tight deadlines
Advantageous But Not Essential:
- Great knowledge of Apache, specifically Mod Rewrite
- Good working knowledge of Linux, including command line
- Server administration experience
- Ecommerce experience
- Smarty
Salary will be £60K - £65K.
