We are seeking an experienced trader in GB Power & Gas to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing market relationships, negotiating trading limits, and implementing precise trading strategies under the mandate from senior executives. This is an individual contributor role, and is pivotal in driving growth while adhering to strict capital, liquidity, risk and policy parameters.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and counterparties.
- Propose, agree and implement exact trading strategies.
- Conduct daily analysis of risk and refine hedging strategies to optimize profitability, and report regularly to management.
- Earn and maintain respect from the commercial team, finance, and trading & risk colleagues.
- Take interest and be accountable for successful end-to-end operations for trades, including planning, execution, operations, risk, settlement, accounting and reporting.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, management and the board regarding trading performance, forecasts and risk.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in GB power and gas trading, hedging, and risk management.
- Strong understanding of broker and market relationships, and structuring trades.
- Ability to drive profit and growth within strict limits and capital/risk mandate.
- Ability to coach junior colleagues.
