Role: Transformation PMO Consultant (Housing - Local Government) x2

Consulting Seniority: Junior Consultant - Manager

Day rate: £300-£400/day (outside IR35)

Project duration: 3-6 months

We’re collaborating with a boutique consultancy that specialises in delivering transformation projects within the public sector. They’re seeking independent consultants with PMO experience in local government projects. The ideal candidates will have a proven track record of managing complex programs involving organisational design and technology systems, within the housing space.

Key tasks:

  • Develop and implement robust governance frameworks to ensure alignment of transformation initiatives with organisational objectives and compliance standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive project plans, tracking key milestones, deliverables, and deadlines across various workstreams.
  • Establish and maintain a centralised risk and issue log, collaborating with project teams to identify, document, and mitigate potential challenges.
  • Monitor resource allocation across the program, ensuring project teams have the necessary support and skills to deliver on time and within budget.
  • Support the change control process, ensuring that any changes to scope, budget, or timeline are properly documented and approved through appropriate governance channels.

Key skills:

  • A currently available independent consultant
  • Experience working in local government projects (ideally housing)
  • Proven consulting experience, ideally with prior experience in full-time consulting
  • Certification in project management methodologies
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
