Day rate: Negotiable (Outside IR35)
Project duration: 2 weeks, starting asap
Location: 3-4 days on-site in London, 1-2 days remote
We're partnered with a boutique strategy and commercial due diligence consultancy that is looking to onboard a strategy consultant for commercial due diligence and investment advisory projects in the insurance industry. The role will be analysis-heavy, with significant Excel work.
Tasks:
- Market & Regulatory Assessment – Analyse insurance market trends, regulatory developments, underwriting changes, and compliance risks impacting the sector
- Competitive Positioning – Evaluate the target’s market position, product differentiation, distribution strategy, and competitive advantages across insurers, brokers, or insurtechs
- Commercial & Revenue Analysis – Assess premium/revenue streams, pricing models, client portfolios, retention metrics, and future growth potential
- Operational & Technology Review – Examine claims operations, underwriting processes, platform capabilities, data infrastructure, and cost efficiency
- Risk & Investment Feasibility – Identify underwriting, operational, regulatory, and scalability risks, alongside alignment with investor objectives and long-term growth strategy
Requirements:
- A currently active independent consultant
- Strategy consulting background at a tier 1, tier 2, Big 4, or specialist boutique. Alternatively, a transactions background in Private Equity (PE) or Investment Banking (IB)
- 5+ years of experience working on CDDs. Ideally, in the insurance or financial services sector
- Comfortable with a hybrid setup from their London HQ
