ProInfoNet is seeking an experienced IP Network Engineer to join our Tier 3 Network Operations Center (NOC) team supporting the New England Telehealth Consortium (NETC). This position plays a key role in both day-to-day network operations and the NETC Next Generation initiative, deploying advanced transport and SD-WAN technologies that strengthen healthcare connectivity across Maine and beyond. The ideal candidate is a hands‐on technical leader with deep routing and switching expertise, strong analytical skills, and a passion for building resilient, secure, and scalable network solutions in a healthcare‐focused environment. You will troubleshoot backbone and transport issues, contribute to network design and testing, and support strategic initiatives.

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the NOC's highest escalation point for IP routing, transport, and backbone issues.
  • Troubleshoot complex BGP, MPLS, and EVPN Layer 2 connectivity across NETC's core and participant sites.
  • Perform route‐table analysis, traffic optimization, and failover validation.
  • Support proactive network monitoring, incident management, and root cause analysis.
  • Mentor Tier 1 and Tier 2 NOC technicians; develop and maintain operational standards, playbooks, and knowledge articles.
  • Support SD‐WAN architecture, configuration, and testing for the NETC Next Gen platform.
  • Build, configure, and maintain Versa Director, Controller, and Analytics components in both self‐hosted and cloud‐hosted environments.
  • Assist in migration between shared and dedicated head‐end infrastructures.
  • Participate in BGP and VRF design for multi‐tenant healthcare networks.
  • Validate routing table scaling, control‐plane resilience, and headless operation limits.
  • Collaborate with carrier and vendor engineering teams to ensure consistency across core and edge environments.
  • Maintain up‐to‐date topology, configuration, and interface documentation.
  • Contribute to test plans, change‐control documentation, and internal knowledge base content.
  • Partner with NOC Operations, Field Services, and Project Management teams to ensure seamless rollouts and operational handoffs.

What You Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in IP networking or carrier‐grade network environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRF/EVPN, and Layer 2/Layer 3 transport design.
  • Hands‐on experience with Versa SD‐WAN, Fortinet, Cisco IOS‐XE, or similar enterprise platforms.
  • Familiarity with multi‐tenant architectures, VLAN trunking (802.1Q), and WAN redundancy.
  • Proficiency with CLI and Linux environments; scripting or automation (Python, Ansible) is a plus.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills with a focus on service continuity.
  • Certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience with healthcare networks, virtualization (VMware/Hyper‐V), or monitoring tools (PRTG, Zabbix, SolarWinds) a plus.
