Role Description

We are seeking an experienced project planner to support the successful delivery of capital projects within the water and utilities sector. The role will play a critical part in planning, coordinating, and monitoring projects across infrastructure upgrades, treatment works, pipelines, and network improvements. You will closely work with project managers, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and update detailed project schedules.
  • Integrate schedules across multi-disciplinary teams and contractors.
  • Monitor progress against baseline programmes and identify variances.
  • Conduct critical path analysis and scenario planning.
  • Track regulatory and compliance milestones.
  • Provide regular reporting (earned value, forecasting, schedule performance).
  • Support change control processes and impact assessments.
  • Participate in project reviews and stakeholder meetings.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a project planner within water, utilities, infrastructure, or heavy civil projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or MS Project.
  • Experience managing large scale capital programmes.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks within water/utilities.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and proactive problem solving approach.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
  • Experience working with contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
