Passive Fire Door Surveyor – Self-Employed (BPSS Clearance Required) Location: South West & West (Reading, Cardiff, Gloucester, Andover & Bristol) Day Rate: £250- £270 The Opportunity This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced self-employed Fire Door Surveyor to join a leading UK passive fire protection and compliance contractor on a short-term contract across the South West and West of England. The contract runs for approximately three weeks covering multiple locations including Reading, Cardiff, Gloucester, Andover and Bristol, with a start date in the coming weeks. Please note: BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) clearance is a non-negotiable requirement for this role. Candidates must hold valid BPSS clearance before commencing. Please do not apply if you cannot satisfy this requirement. The Role As Fire Door Surveyor, you will carry out thorough fire door surveys across multiple sites throughout the South West and West, identifying defects and non-compliance issues, producing accurate and client-ready survey reports and maintaining the high standards of compliance and quality expected across the business. This is a mobile role covering a wide geographic area — candidates must be comfortable travelling across the region throughout the contract. Key Responsibilities * Carry out thorough fire door surveys including full compliance checks, gap tolerances, ironmongery, intumescent seals and signage * Identify defects and non-compliance issues in line with current fire door regulations and standards * Produce clear, accurate and client-ready survey reports using digital reporting systems * Record all findings accurately with photographic evidence throughout * Liaise professionally with clients and site contacts throughout surveys * Maintain a professional approach when working across occupied environments * Travel across Reading, Cardiff, Gloucester, Andover and Bristol as required throughout the contract * Ensure all survey activity is completed to the required compliance standards What We're Looking For * Proven experience carrying out fire door surveys — essential * Strong technical knowledge of fire door compliance including gaps, tolerances, ironmongery, intumescent seals and signage * Valid BPSS clearance — an absolute requirement.
