This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to join a well-established fire protection contractor on an ongoing temporary basis. The business delivers passive and active fire protection works across a strong pipeline of secured contracts, with this role based on a long-term commercial project in Leeds requiring an immediate start.

This role has a strong administrative component. Candidates must be confident, capable and willing to carry out detailed reporting, documentation and programme administration as a core part of the position.

As Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for overseeing day-to-day site operations across a fire protection project in Leeds. This is a mobile role covering sites across approximately 15 miles around Leeds city centre, so a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential. You will work closely with the Project Manager, managing multiple projects simultaneously, leading contractor teams, and producing regular written reports and documentation. Strong administration skills and report writing ability are essential requirements for this position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day site operations across passive fire protection works, with active fire experience a bonus
  • Assist the Project Manager with programme delivery and project planning across multiple concurrent projects
  • Produce weekly progress reports and written updates for the line manager — strong report writing skills are essential
  • Support the project delivery team with daily administrative tasks as required
  • Carry out initial project briefs and produce short-term schedules of works based on the master programme
  • Manage labour, subcontractors and costs across multiple sites
  • Organise materials ordering and ensure supplies are delivered in good condition
  • Monitor productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching to site teams
  • Implement and maintain HSEQ systems across all sites
  • Ensure all operatives have appropriate PPE and signage is correctly displayed
  • Carry out weekly stock takes
  • Maintain a safe environment for tenants, residents and members of the public
  • Liaise with clients professionally and attend meetings as required
  • Ensure all works are completed in line with compliance standards and company procedures
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience as a Site Manager within passive fire protection — active fire experience is a bonus
  • Strong report writing skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate weekly reports and programme documentation
  • Experience managing multiple projects and contractor teams simultaneously
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve site issues efficiently
  • SMSTS — required
  • CSCS Card — required
  • First Aid — required
  • Asbestos Awareness — required
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle — essential
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills
