This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced passive fire site manager to join a well-established fire protection contractor on an ongoing self-employed basis, with an immediate start. The role is based across various sites in the Portsmouth area covering the PO21 and BN17 postcode areas, overseeing a fire remedial works programme including timber fire doors and penetration sealing works.

As Passive Fire Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for overseeing day-to-day site operations across multiple sites in the Portsmouth area, ensuring all works are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. You will assist the Project Manager as required and act as the key point of contact on site for operatives, subcontractors and clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day site operations across passive fire remedial works including timber fire doors and penetration sealing
  • Assist the Project Manager with programme delivery and project planning
  • Carry out initial project briefs and produce short-term schedules of works
  • Collate drawings, specifications and client information to plan works appropriately
  • Manage labour and subcontractors across multiple sites, organising workflow and delegating tasks effectively
  • Monitor productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching to site teams
  • Identify material requirements, liaise with the office and ensure supplies are delivered in good condition
  • Carry out weekly stock takes and produce weekly progress reports for the line manager
  • Implement and maintain HSEQ systems across all sites
  • Ensure all operatives have appropriate PPE and that signage is correctly displayed
  • Maintain a safe environment for tenants, residents and members of the public
  • Support the delivery team with daily administrative tasks as required
  • Liaise with clients professionally and attend meetings as required
  • Ensure all works are completed in line with compliance standards and company procedures
What We're Looking For:
  • Proven experience as a Site Manager within passive fire protection
  • Technical knowledge of timber fire doors and penetration sealing — essential
  • FIRAS Supervisor accreditation — strongly preferred (training provided for the right candidate)
  • Experience working within occupied residential environments and social housing
  • SMSTS — required
  • CSCS Card — required
  • First Aid — required
  • Asbestos Awareness — required
  • Full UK Driving Licence and own vehicle — essential
  • Strong communication, organisational and client-facing skills
