Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Fire Door & Fire Stopping Surveyor to join a leading contractor within the Passive Fire Protection sector. You’ll be responsible for inspecting, assessing, and reporting on fire doors and fire stopping works across multiples sector projects. The role is mainly based across London, Kent, and Essex, with some travel across nationwide (around one week per month, occasional overnight stays). This position offers a £45,000 salary, company car, fuel card, and excellent long-term career progression. Key Responsibilities • Conduct detailed surveys of fire doors (FD30, FD60) and fire stopping/compartmentation works • Identify defects, recommend remedial actions, and ensure compliance with BM Trada and industry standards • Record findings using digital survey tools and applications • Produce clear compliance reports with photographic evidence • Liaise with clients, site teams, and internal departments • Support quality assurance processes and ensure all works meet fire safety regulations • Travel across sites – approximately 70% London/Kent/Essex, 30% nationwide (occasional staying away) Skills & Experience • Proven experience in fire door and passive fire protection surveying • Knowledge of BM Trada, FIRAS, FDIS, or IFC standards • Proficient with survey/reporting software (Bolster, OneTrace, BORIS, JobLogic) • Excellent communication and attention to detail • CSCS card, full clean UK driving licence, and clear DBS essential • Flexible for occasional weekends or nights (rare, notice always given) • Willingness to work away – roughly 4 weeks London-based, 1 week UK-wide • Standard working hours: 8am–4pm Benefits • £45,000 annual salary • Company car & fuel card • Varied project portfolio nationwide • Ongoing training, development, and accreditation support
