The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading UK passive fire protection and compliance contractor with a strong reputation for quality, reliability and regulatory excellence. This is a permanent position offering a clear base salary with significant productivity bonus potential on top, making total earnings of up to £35,000 – £36,000 per year for high performers. Freelance and interim candidates will also be considered.

The Role

As Fire Damper Inspector, you will carry out fire damper inspections across sites in Newcastle and the surrounding areas, including drop test inspections to the required industry standards. You will be responsible for ensuring all damper systems are inspected, tested and reported on accurately, maintaining the high standards of compliance and quality expected across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out fire damper inspections across multiple sites in Newcastle and surrounding areas
  • Conduct drop test inspections in line with current industry standards and regulations
  • Record all inspection findings accurately using digital reporting systems
  • Identify defects and non-compliance issues and produce clear inspection reports
  • Liaise professionally with clients and site contacts throughout inspections
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation across all sites
  • Ensure all works are completed in line with relevant compliance standards and regulations

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience carrying out fire damper inspections – essential
  • Competence carrying out drop test inspections – essential
  • Knowledge of BS 9999, BS 8458 and relevant fire damper compliance standards – desirable
  • Experience using digital reporting systems – desirable
  • BESA fire damper inspection competency – desirable
  • Damper360 or similar system experience – desirable
  • CSCS Card – desirable
  • Full UK Driving Licence – required
