As part of its continued growth, the company is looking for a Sales Order Coordinator to join the team, offering the opportunity to develop specialist product knowledge and take ownership of customer orders within a collaborative manufacturing environment.

You’ll manage the transition from accepted quotation to live order, ensuring specifications are clear, information is accurate and internal teams have everything they need to progress the work.

As the main customer contact after an order is placed, you’ll coordinate with sales, estimating and production to keep customers informed, manage amendments and agree realistic delivery expectations.

This would suit someone with experience in order processing, sales coordination or project administration within a manufacturing or construction-related business, who enjoys building customer relationships and keeping projects organised.

Overview of the role

  • Take ownership of newly accepted quotations and prepare them for order processing.
  • Contact customers to confirm specifications and collect outstanding information.
  • Liaise with production teams to establish achievable lead times and delivery dates.
  • Keep customers informed of order progress, revisions and changes.
  • Assess whether amendments require changes to job sheets or pricing, working with the estimating team where needed.
  • Assist with quotations and project revisions.
  • Maintain accurate customer and project records on Hub Spot.
  • Use Sage 200 for order processing and maintain ironmongery and alterations logs.
  • Work with external sales colleagues to ensure customer expectations are understood and managed.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the company’s products so you can respond confidently to customer queries.

About you

  • Experience in sales coordination, order processing, estimating support or project administration.
  • Strong customer service skills and confidence managing customer expectations.
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable coordinating several orders and deadlines at the same time.
  • A practical approach to resolving queries and gathering missing information.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and CRM or order processing systems.
  • Experience working with production or other internal teams to keep orders on track
