Project Manager in Horsham

Are you a construction or manufacturing Project Manager who is confident coordinating teams, building customer relationships and spotting potential problems before they affect delivery? ProGroup Recruitment is working with an established fire door manufacturer to recruit a customer-facing Project Manager. This opportunity would suit someone with practical construction experience who understands the challenges faced on site and can bring internal teams and external stakeholders together to keep projects progressing. Strong organisation, clear communication and a proactive approach to resolving problems are the key priorities. Experience with fire doors or passive fire protection would be an advantage. The role: You will coordinate multiple customer projects from initial order discussions through to manufacture, delivery and aftercare. Acting as a central point of contact, you will ensure customer requirements are understood, information is accurate and commitments are realistic. Responsibilities will include: * Building strong customer relationships, managing expectations and providing regular progress updates. * Coordinating sales, estimating, technical, production and logistics teams to keep projects on track. * Reviewing drawings, specifications and door schedules, identifying missing information and obtaining clarification. * Working with estimating colleagues to ensure quotations, orders and variations reflect the agreed project requirements. * Ensuring approvals and project information are complete and accurate before handover to production. * Monitoring progress, identifying potential delays or practical challenges and coordinating solutions. * Agreeing achievable delivery programmes with internal teams and customers. * Attending customer and site meetings as required, providing support through delivery and any post-delivery queries. About you: We are looking for someone who can take ownership, follow through on commitments and confidently manage several moving parts at once. You will bring: * Experience in project management or customer-facing project delivery within construction, building products, specialist subcontracting or a related environment. * A practical understanding of site requirements and the ability to anticipate issues that could affect a project. * Strong organisational skills, with experience coordinating internal teams, external stakeholders and competing deadlines. * Excellent communication skills and confidence handling customer queries and challenging conversations. * The ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical information, seeking specialist input where needed. * Commercial awareness, including an understanding of scope changes, variations and their impact on costs and delivery. * Confidence using Microsoft Office and CRM or project management systems. Experience in doors, joinery, fit-out or passive fire protection would be beneficial, but is not essential. Candidates with a site-based Project Management background are encouraged to apply. Package and working arrangements * Basic salary of £45,000–£50,000, depending on experience. * Car allowance of £600 per month. * Hybrid working considered, with attendance at the Partridge Green office 2–3 days per week, particularly during probation. * Travel to customer and project sites as required.
