This is a rare and prestigious opportunity for an experienced Passive Fire Project Manager to take on a long-term, static position at one of the UK's most high-profile and complex sites β Heathrow Airport. The business delivers passive fire protection works across multiple terminals, with a strong focus on compliance, certification and quality at every stage of the project lifecycle.
This is a permanent position offering genuine project ownership, long-term stability and the opportunity to work within a technically demanding, highly regulated environment. Candidates with prior experience working on airports, MOD bases or similarly controlled environments will stand out significantly. Please note: successful candidates will be required to obtain full airport security clearance. This is a non-negotiable requirement of the role.
As Passive Fire Project Manager, you will take full ownership of passive fire protection works across Heathrow Airport's terminals from mobilisation through to completion. You will manage a team of approximately 10 operatives spread across multiple terminals, overseeing fire stopping and compliance works whilst maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring all projects are delivered safely, compliantly and to programme.
This is a client-facing, compliance-driven and commercially aware role requiring someone who can manage the full project lifecycle β from survey and pricing through to certification, handover and client sign-off.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of passive fire projects from mobilisation through to completion across multiple terminals
- Deliver fire stopping works including penetration sealing, fire boarding, batts and mastic and intumescent coatings
- Carry out and oversee survey works across terminals, identifying passive fire requirements and compliance issues
- Price works and support commercial activity throughout the project
- Manage approximately 10 operatives spread across multiple terminals at Heathrow
- Liaise directly with clients, airport staff and stakeholders on a daily basis β managing progress, resolving issues and maintaining strong working relationships
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with FIRAS, BM TRADA, IFC and LPCB certification requirements
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive compliance documentation including before and after photos, evidence packs and handover documentation
- Run daily site operations including inductions, toolbox talks, RAMS and H&S checks
- Support planning, sequencing and resource allocation across the terminal programme
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience delivering passive fire protection works β fire stopping essential, fire door compliance advantageous
- Strong understanding of FIRAS, BM TRADA, IFC and LPCB certification requirements
- Experience working within airports, MOD bases, secure or highly regulated environments β strongly preferred
- Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills
- Experience pricing works and managing compliance documentation to handover standard
- NVQ Level 6 in Construction β required
- Passive fire or fire stopping qualification β required
- SMSTS β required
- Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Heathrow β no vehicle provided for this role
