We are currently recruiting experienced Firestopping Operatives / Fire Compartmentation Surveyors to work across two residential buildings in Fife, carrying out inspections to identify breaches within existing 60-minute fire-resisting compartmentation. The aim of the project is to identify any defects or breaches in the fire-resistant construction across the ground and first floors, helping to ensure the buildings meet the required fire safety standards and support the reinstatement of the stay-put policy. Key Responsibilities: * Inspect firestopping around service penetrations through compartment walls and floors within residential flats. * Identify unsuitable firestopping materials, including expanding foam and inappropriate mastics. * Inspect communal areas, including corridors, stairwells and compartment junctions. * Inspect plant rooms, electrical cupboards and switchroom enclosures. * Assess loft and roof void spaces, identifying gaps in fire barriers and potential compartmentation breaches. * Inspect lift shaft penetrations, associated cable firestopping and roof/service void access hatches. * Use borescopes to inspect concealed voids and inaccessible areas. * Carefully lift ceiling tiles, riser panels and small sections of flooring where required to facilitate inspections. * Ensure all openings are reinstated on the same day. * Raise any works or defects falling outside the agreed scope for further instruction. Requirements: * Previous experience in firestopping, passive fire protection or fire compartmentation inspections. * Good understanding of fire barriers, compartmentation and fire-resistant construction. * Experience identifying defective or unsuitable firestopping installations. * Ability to use inspection equipment, including borescopes. * Must hold a valid PVG check. * Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately identify and report defects. * Professional approach when working within occupied residential properties. Additional Information: * Work will be carried out across two residential buildings in Fife. * Initial inspections will focus on vacant properties, followed by occupied flats by appointment. * All inspections must be non-destructive, with no cutting into plasterboard or destructive testing/sampling permitted. * Operatives must sign in and out daily with the site VSHO and collect keys as required. * A roof access permit system will be in place at one of the buildings. If you have experience in firestopping, passive fire protection or fire compartmentation and are available for work in Fife, we would love to hear from you
