I'm currently working on behalf of a growing compliance consultancy that is expanding its fire risk assessment offering and looking to appoint an experienced Senior Fire Risk Assessor. This is a senior opportunity for someone who wants more than day-to-day assessments — the successful candidate will have the chance to lead, influence standards, and help build a fire risk assessment team within a growing business.

The Role

In this role, you'll deliver high-quality fire risk assessments across the residential sector while supporting the development and management of a growing assessor team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Completing fire risk assessments in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
  • Producing clear, compliant, and well-structured fire risk assessment reports
  • Providing technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior and trainee assessors
  • Supporting the recruitment, development, and performance management of assessors
  • Liaising with clients, managing expectations, and providing practical, proportionate fire safety advice
  • Supporting internal quality assurance, auditing, and continuous improvement processes
  • Keeping up to date with changes in fire safety legislation, standards, and best practice

The Ideal Candidate

I'm looking to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Proven experience as a Fire Risk Assessor within the residential sector
  • Experience covering low- to high-rise residential buildings
  • A recognised fire risk assessment qualification, with a minimum Tier 3 status on a recognised register
  • Strong knowledge of current fire safety legislation and guidance
  • Experience mentoring others, or a clear ambition to progress into a leadership role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A professional, pragmatic, and client-focused approach

What's on Offer

This position offers:

  • £50,000 - £60,000 salary, depending on experience
  • A genuine opportunity to lead and grow a fire risk assessment team
  • Clear career progression within a rapidly expanding business
  • Pension scheme
  • Healthcare scheme
  • Company vehicle or car allowance (where applicable)
  • 22 days annual leave + bank holidays + Christmas shutdown
  • Ongoing training, CPD, and professional development support
