Fire Door Surveyor

We’re currently seeking a skilled Fire Door Surveyor to support a large-scale compliance programme in Sheffield. This role offers the chance to contribute to essential fire safety work across various occupied properties and public sector buildings. This is a contract position with consistent workflow expected over the coming months — ideal for someone available immediately and experienced in fire door inspections, particularly within live environments. The Opportunity You’ll be responsible for surveying and assessing the condition and compliance of fire doors across a portfolio of buildings. Inspections will focus on identifying non-conformities, capturing accurate measurements, and preparing clear, professional reports outlining remedial requirements. This is hands-on, detail-oriented work suited to professionals who understand the importance of thorough fire door compliance and reporting. Key Responsibilities * Carry out comprehensive fire door surveys across residential and commercial sites * Remove architraves (where required) to conduct intrusive inspections * Take detailed measurements and note component-level defects * Record findings using digital software (Bolster or similar) * Produce accurate reports with suggested remedial actions * Liaise with site representatives to support smooth access and inspection delivery What We’re Looking For * Proven background in fire door surveying * Familiarity with fire safety regulations and compliance standards * Experience with Bolster or similar reporting platforms (preferred) * Reliable, self-sufficient, and able to manage day-to-day tasks on-site * Strong written communication for reporting purposes Relevant qualifications (e.g. FDIS, BM Trada, or similar) are advantageous but not essential for the right level of experience.
