ProGroup Recruitment are working with a highly professional and rapidly growing fire protection contractor who are seeking an exceptional Contracts Manager to join their passive fire protection operational delivery team. Our client is a long‑established construction services group with a specialist fire protection division delivering major, high‑value fire stopping packages on some of the most prestigious and complex projects in the UK. The division is undergoing significant planned growth, supported by a strong secured pipeline and a clear long‑term strategy to scale to £50m+ over the next five years. As part of this expansion, they are looking to appoint a technically strong Contracts Manager to oversee multiple large‑scale projects across London and the M25 corridor. All works are delivered using directly employed labour, ensuring consistently high standards and full control over quality and compliance.

The successful candidate will manage 2–3 major live passive fire projects at any one time, ensuring exceptional standards of quality, compliance and client communication. This role requires a confident and polished Contracts Manager with extensive experience in passive fire protection and working on complex, high‑profile construction projects under principal contractors with multi‑million pound contract values.

Key responsibilities:
  • Managing passive fire protection projects from pre‑construction through to final handover.
  • Carrying out installation percentage checks and verifying installation rates against internal systems.
  • Reviewing technical drawings, identifying penetration details, and performing gap analysis against regulations.
  • Leading client progress meetings and maintaining strong professional relationships.
  • Participating in design workshops and liaising closely with technical, commercial, and site teams.
  • Ensuring compliance with FIRAS and BM TRADA standards and project specifications.
  • Supporting managers and site teams working underneath to achieve high‑quality project delivery.
  • Representing the business with professionalism, confidence, and enthusiasm.
Experience and skills required:
  • Strong experience as a Contracts Manager within passive fire protection.
  • Proven background managing large‑scale fire stopping contracts.
  • Experience working with principal contractors on projects from £50million+.
  • Excellent understanding of NEC and JCT contract forms.
  • High level of technical competence with fire stopping details and drawing interpretation.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturers including Nullifire, Hilti, Quelfire, Rockwool, etc.
  • Familiarity with compliance systems such as Bolster or Onetrace.
  • Experience working with FIRAS / BM TRADA accreditation.
  • Confident leading meetings and building long‑term client relationships.
  • Experience working on major or high‑security construction projects.
