The Role
ProGroup Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Fire Service & Maintenance Engineer to support a newly awarded fire service and maintenance contract for a leading housing provider across Essex and Southern Suffolk. The successful engineer will be responsible for carrying out planned servicing, maintenance and general repairs across a range of fire safety systems within residential properties. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking for a long-term contract with a strong pipeline of work across a defined geographical area.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned servicing and maintenance of fire safety systems.
- Diagnose faults and complete general repairs where required.
- Complete servicing and maintenance of:
- Fire Alarm Systems
- Emergency Lighting
- Automatic Opening Vents (AOVs)
- Attend residential properties across Essex and Southern Suffolk.
- Complete accurate service reports and documentation.
- Identify defects and recommend remedial works where appropriate.
- Liaise professionally with residents, customers and other contractors while working on occupied properties.
Requirements
We are looking for an experienced Fire Service & Maintenance Engineer with a strong background in the servicing and maintenance of fire safety systems. You should have:
- Previous experience working as a Fire Alarm / Fire Service & Maintenance Engineer.
- Practical experience servicing and fault-finding fire alarm systems.
- Experience with emergency lighting and/or AOV systems.
- The ability to diagnose faults and undertake general repairs.
- Good knowledge of relevant fire safety standards and regulations.
- Strong reporting and documentation skills.
- Own reliable works vehicle.
Contract & Benefits
- Up to £250 per day, depending on experience and capability.
- Expenses paid in addition to the daily rate.
- Long-term contract anticipated through to March 2027.
- Consistent workload across Essex and Southern Suffolk.
- Localised geographical coverage, primarily CO, CM and SS postcodes, with some IP areas.
