This is a rare and standout opportunity for a highly experienced Senior Fire Door Inspector to join a growing and ambitious fire door specialist at a pivotal stage of their development. This is not a standard surveying role. You will play a central part in supporting the business through the BM TRADA Q-Mark scheme whilst carrying out fire door surveys directly, taking on a senior, client-facing position with real influence over the direction and quality of the business. For commercially minded candidates, there is also genuine earning potential through a generous commission structure on new business and referrals.

As Senior Fire Door Inspector, you will take ownership of fire door surveys across high-end residential blocks, typically five to six storeys, carrying out thorough compliance inspections, producing client-ready reports and supporting the business through the BM TRADA Q-Mark accreditation process. The role is split roughly 75% site-based and 25% office-based, flexing toward a 50/50 split depending on reporting and paperwork load.

You will act as the main point of contact for clients, bringing strong people skills and a professional, confident approach to every interaction. Quoting for inspection and survey work is part of the role, with some involvement in new business development for those with commercial ambition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the business in achieving and progressing BM TRADA Q-Mark scheme status.
  • Carry out thorough fire door surveys including compliance checks, gap tolerances, ironmongery, intumescent seals and signage.
  • Carry out intrusive fire door inspections when required.
  • Produce clear, accurate and client-ready survey reports to a consistently high standard.
  • Review and quality assure survey reports produced by the wider team.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior inspectors and engineers.
  • Identify defects and non-compliance issues in line with current fire door regulations and standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing relationships, expectations and communications professionally.
  • Prepare quotations for inspection and survey works; fire door experience in this area essential, broader quoting experience desirable.
  • Support new business development and referrals where appropriate.
  • Liaise with site teams and contract managers throughout project delivery.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Extensive, proven experience as a Senior Fire Door Inspector or Surveyor.
  • Strong, demonstrated experience working with BM TRADA.
  • Comfortable working on high-end residential properties including occupied blocks of flats.
  • Experience quoting for fire door inspection or survey works.
  • Commercially minded with some exposure to new business or client development.
  • Based in or around Surrey or London.
  • FDIS or equivalent fire door inspection qualification.
  • BM TRADA Q-Mark awareness or accreditation strongly preferred.
  • Full UK Driving Licence required.
What’s On Offer:
  • £50,000 – £60,000 per annum depending on experience.
  • Bonuses.
  • 26 days holiday.
  • Expenses covered directly – no reimbursement process.
  • Genuine opportunity to shape the quality and accreditation standards of the business.
