The General Manager – Sales & Business Development will be key to building strategic networks with those in the world of luxury tea outside the organisation to advance business goals. The postholder will put in place and execute a well-defined Communication and Engagement model to ensure a good understanding of the business, its evolving structure and distinguishing features.
This is a pivotal senior sales role within the company and a great opportunity for a client focused and sales driven individual to join and further develop within one of the world’s leading luxury tea brands.
Key Accountabilities:- Overall responsibility for the day to day management of the business with particular focus on the luxury hotel, retail and gifting markets.
- Responsibility to deliver key specified company objectives in terms of profitability, service and brand.
- Responsibility for online sales apart from the horeca, retail, boutique, corporate, gifting and distributors (in UK and other territories under UK).
- Reporting to Directors on a regular basis.
- Overall responsibility for delivering agreed sales targets, working with the Director of Global Marketing to ensure all opportunities are explored and new contracts are secured.
- Overall responsibility for ensuring the operation of the business runs effectively to deliver agreed targets of customer service and satisfaction.
- Submit reports as needed/requested, which may include reports on sales performance, profitability, staffing and operations.
- Manage allocations at a state, distributor and account level to leverage best use, for optimum benefit to gross margin and brand equity.
- Deep understanding of how to build our luxury tea brand in the marketplace.
- Ability to handle multiple challenges simultaneously.
- Analyse and communicate results and trends of sales-based marketing research.
- Under corporate directive, develop and manage new sales strategies and programs to increase tea sales.
- Periodically review distributor performance through Sales Managers and review gaps in performance addressing reasons and actionable steps to close the gaps.
- Senior level experience within a premium brand in the FMCG or Hospitality sector.
- A significant network of contacts in HoReCa.
- Experience at Managing Tenders and Negotiating Contracts.
- Strong communication skills and IT fluency.
- Ability to work under pressure and multi-task.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage Budgets.
- Ability to flourish in an SME, being proactive and a self-starter are key.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Developing gifting market.
- An inspirational manager with a skill to personally land new contracts with leading hotel chains.
