Our client is one of the UK’s leading environmental compliance and risk management consultancies. They specialise in providing solutions for organisations to ensure they remain compliant when managing environmental risks presented by hazards such as asbestos, fire and water.
The company is going through growth and is looking for an experienced Qualified Accountant to join them as a Finance and Commercial Director to work closely with the owner as well as the Regional Director. This is an exciting role that will bring together your finance expertise and involve you commercially with the business.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Managing a small finance team
- Reporting to and supporting the MD/Owner of the business on various commercial projects and initiatives
- Reviewing and making improvements to systems and processes
- Working closely with the Regional Directors, Sales Director and Technical Director to support and grow the business
- Responsible for all things finance, from yearly and monthly accounting and reporting
- Having a strong understanding of Work in Progress (WIP) Accounting
- Overseeing and ensuring that all day-to-day transactional accounting is accurate and on time
- Conducting commercial and financial analysis for the business to assist with strategic decisions
This role will offer progression and the opportunity to become a stakeholder in the business. You must be a Qualified Accountant with a commercial background and have previous experience in either the asbestos industry or similar, with a strong understanding of consultancy, projects and Work in Progress. First-class communication skills are a must.
There will be an expectation to be in the offices 5 days a week, but after some time there may be a bit of flexibility. However, the desire to be in and be part of the strong leadership team is essential.
